Get ready, Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) is almost here! From Dec. 8–14, 2025, we’ll come together to celebrate the people and ideas shaping the future of technology. This year’s theme, CS Powers AI Innovation, reminds us that while artificial intelligence is the headline, computer science is the story.
Behind every AI breakthrough are educators, researchers, and students who use computer science to imagine new possibilities. They are the visionaries teaching us that innovation is as much about creativity and compassion as it is about code.
This year’s CS Heroes are redefining what it means to lead in computer science education. One Hero’s groundbreaking TED Talk about personal robots inspired millions to see how AI can connect, empower, and reflect what’s best in humanity. Another is helping thousands of students discover the power of data to serve their communities. Others are building national frameworks for AI education, advancing computational thinking, and mentoring teachers who are bringing responsible AI into classrooms across the country.
Our Rising Heroes, nominated by these trailblazers, are equally extraordinary. They are students already using technology to make a difference — researching how AI shapes immigrant experiences, studying AI can support students and educators, and exploring how computing can drive social good. These young change makers remind us that the next generation isn’t waiting for the future — they’re building it.
